HONORS PROGRAM
Our Students Innovate
The University of Arkansas Honors College fosters an intellectually vibrant and inclusive community where students and faculty engage deeply with ideas, challenge one another and pursue meaningful inquiry across disciplines. Students have access to innovative Honors courses, faculty mentorship, research experiences, study abroad opportunities, grant funding and career prep through the college’s Futures Hub.
Our Students Find Their Path
With more than 34,000 students on our campus and over 230,000 graduates, everyone has a story to tell, and everyone has a different path to earning their name into Senior Walk.
Dalaiah Johnson
"The campus energy, the community and the resources available made it feel like home, but also like a place where I could truly push myself to grow.”
Dalaiah says one of the most impactful things about her time at the U of A was her involvement with the U of A’s Volunteer Action Center VAC and organizations like Dream B.I.G. giving her the chance to connect with other students who are passionate about service and be part of something meaningful.
Lizbeth Hernandez
"It’s difficult as a first-generation student. You don’t always know who to reach out to, especially after you move to a new city and out of your hometown."
Lizbeth was the first in her family to attend college and found her footing thanks, in part, to the team at The CORD: the Cordia Harrington Center for Excellence, the heart of student success initiatives on campus, as well as the scholarship office.
Ashton Laurent
"This choir has given space for me to be authentically myself, while also encouraging me to hone my craft and try things outside of my comfort level. All of my favorite memories come from this experience."
Ashton transferred to the U of A campus in Fayetteville with the help of the Arkansas Transfer Achievement Scholarship which helps students transferring from two-year institutions in the U of A System.

Our Research is Building a Better World
Just imagining a better world isn’t enough. It takes discovery, collaboration and a special kind of dedication to move things forward. Some might say, that’s our calling at the University of Arkansas. We envision a better world and we’re determined to build it.
Porch: An Architecture of Generosity
"This is what animates what we're doing. And this is what I think every Arkansan should take pride in — that we have a state which is known for design excellence now, and it is a place where people should want to come and visit. And it's a place that Arkansans should take pride in as they travel out into the world."
A Rising Power in Metabolic Research
Researchers at the Arkansas Integrative Metabolic Research Center, or AIMRC, are tackling a range of pathological conditions that affect millions of people worldwide – all by understanding how changes in metabolism at the tissue and cellular levels impact disease, aging and tissue repair.
The Science Behind Structure
From developing a faster setting concrete to finding the breaking point of steel structures, Murray, Prinz and Broberg, along with their fellow researchers, are not only building more resilient buildings and more efficient bridges – they’re building a better tomorrow.
