Program Dates: May 19–July 27, 2003*

Students will perform research on several exciting frontiers:

*Experimental and Theoretical Projects
*Nonlinear and Quantum Optics
*Photorefractive Solitons (see picture)
*Non-linear Materials at High Pressure
*Optically Induced Properties of Magnetic Materials
*Multiple Quantum Well Structures

Proj. 7 Set-Up

In addition, students will receive Instruction on: Literature searches, Use of a research library, and Technical writing and presentations, Software.

Stipend: $4600.
Room and Board Allowance sufficient to cover a dormitory and meal plans will be provided.
Travel Support Available.
Housing Availability: Both dormitory and off-campus.
Eligibility: Physics Majors or those in a field related to Modern Optics.
